Conceived as a dialogue, the exhibition 'Reincanto' collects the writing of two Italian artists, Marco Cordero and Francesca Gagliardi. Each work questions the metamorphosis thought after a period of disenchantment.
Marco Cordero sculpts the book looking for an aesthetic expression of what it contains. Blackened, carbonized, installed on a white sheet, they seem to escape from an autodafé. Has the fire washed away their misdeeds? From the carbonaceous matter comes gold, copper and above the horizon line rises a dust in the form of a mountain. The resurgence of these mountains surrounding the studio of Marco Cordero, draws the thought that evaporates, maintains, and quarrels. The artist asks the question: at which temperature do the consonants melt ?
Francesca Gagliardi practices the defoliation of the feminine matter. She reveals by plunging back into the prime attributes of seduction, a chrysalis that oscillates between fragility and warrior force. She opened the secrets of her handbag, unveiling sticks of lipstick erected to the sky. Incantation ? Defense ? From this undressing, emerge gloves, second skin, abandoned in a snow of glass, frail and scintillating shells that the artist re-sacralizes as an indispensable attire to feminine nudity.
In this exhibition, while the dialogue stirs up its poetry of an enchanting matter, Marco Cordero deposits within a human face canyon, the red pigments of a leaf. These lips drawn on the words are a response to the hollows of Francesca Gagliardi gloved hands who, as an offering, gather the saving water after the autodafé.
